Major Grade Level Objectives

Math—Students will
add and subtract with regrouping. Students will use
the multiplication facts 0-12.

English/Writing—Students will write complete
sentences. Students will use the writing
process to create poems, short stories, and
reports. Students will use the basic parts of speech—nouns, verbs, adjectives,
adverbs.

Reading—Students will identify topic, main idea,
and details in a nonfiction passage. Students will
write a summary. Students will identify the basic
elements of fiction.

Social Studies—Students will use a map including
the 4 main directions. Students will learn
about our state.

Science—Students will use the scientific method to
conduct a simple experiment. Students will explore
topics of life, earth, and physical science.

Religion—Students will identify the 4 marks of the
Church. Students will define the seven sacraments.

Education: 2002 - Master of Arts in Early
Childhood Education from Oakland University
1992 - Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan
University—English Language and Literature, Science, and
Social Studies
1989 - Associate of Arts from St. Clair County Community
College
Experience: I have been
teaching for 16 years at St. Mary
Catholic Academy. Prior to that I was a substitute
teacher for grades Kindergarten through sixth. I
also worked in preschools and day care settings with
children ages 3-5.
