Major Grade Level Objectives

Religion—Students will
understand the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes.

Math --Students will develop problem solving skills in
addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Students will understand addition and subtraction of
fractions/decimals.

Language Arts-- Students will develop skills in reading
comprehension, genre identification, cause/effect and
author’s purpose. Students will apply writing skills to
a variety of subject matter.

Science--Students will develop skills in classification.
Students will understand and apply the scientific method
through lab activities and science fair projects.

Social Studies-- Students will identify states and
capitals. Students will understand the criteria used to create
regions.
Opportunities for Parental Involvement

Parents are welcome to
volunteer their time throughout the school year: field trips,
class Masses, writer’s workshop, classroom parties and
holiday/fundraising projects.

Biography
Education: I earned my Bachelor of
Science in Education at Wayne State University in
Detroit, Michigan, with core majors in Science and
English. I received my Masters in the Art of Teaching
from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. I am
currently completing courses to become a Certified
Catechist.
Experience: This is my
seventh year teaching fourth grade at St. Mary/McCormick Catholic
Academy. Prior to my children attending St. Mary/McCormick
Catholic
Academy, I had taught second grade at Roosevelt
Elementary School for three years.
