Major Grade Level Objectives
1. Students explore the symbolic nature of algebraic
concepts by identifying and extending patterns by
following algebraic procedures and by proving theorems
with properties. 2. Students collect and classify data, organize and
display data, use logical reasoning, and problem
solving. 3. Students compare and order fractions, study fraction
parts, estimate with fractions, reason using fractions,
and problem solve using factions. 4. Students will compare and compute decimals, study
money, estimate decimals, problem solve using decimals,
and reasons using decimals. 5. Students will identify and compare key
characteristics of literary genres. 6. Students will explore language conventions,
structure, usage, parts of speech, subject-verb
agreement, and paragraph and sentence structure. 7. Students will apply the rules that govern punctuation
and capitalization when writing and editing written
works. 8. Students will be able to construct meaning from
fiction and non-fiction selections. 9. Students will study and apply knowledge of word
structures, concrete analogies, synonyms, antonyms,
antonyms, and syllables as well as applying knowledge of
connotations, denotation, and words with multiple
meanings. 10. Students will be exposed to a variety of writing
formats (e.g.. Expository, narrative, poetry, and drama)
and utilize the writing process.

Biography
Education: I received my Bachelor of
Arts Degree in 1987 from the University of Western
Ontario. In 1993, I completed my Bachelor of Education
Degree at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.
In 1992, I received my Law & Security Administration
Diploma and my Teachers of Adult Certificate from
Lambton College. I completed a Masters in the Art of
Teaching in 2003 from Marygrove College in Detroit. In
2004, I completed my Basic Catechist Certification. In
2005, I received a “Who’s Who in American Teacher’s
Award”. I have completed my Canadian principal's
qualifications in 2007. Currently, I working
towards my Specialist in Special Education.
Experience: I have been
teaching at St. Mary Academy for eleven years. This year
(2009-2010) will be my twelfth year.
