Major Grade Level Objectives
1. Children will learn
to use capital letters for people’s names. 2. Children will learn to identify and use periods,
question marks, and exclamation points. 3. Children
will learn to identify the main idea of a story. 4. Children
will learn to correctly identify and name all
capitol and lowercase letters. 5. Children will learn to read and spell many “sight”
words correctly. 6. Children will learn to write using correct left to right
and up and down progression. 7. Children will learn to sound out and read and
write small words. 8. Children will learn to add and subtract 1 digit
numbers. 9. Children will learn to create, describe
and extend simple patterns. 10.Children will
learn to read and write numbers to 30. 11.Children
will learn to count orally to 100 by ones, and
to 30 by twos, fives, and tens. 12.Children
will learn to identify a penny, a nickel, a
dime, and a quarter. 13.Children will learn
to tell time to the hour.
Opportunities for Parental Involvement
You are welcome in
the classroom at any time. I can especially use an
extra set of hands during center time. If you
would like to come in on a regular basis, or just drop
